Borderlands

When I was young, my parents and sisters moved to the United States, leaving my brother and I in Australia to study. Sometimes I missed them so much, I would study the maps at the travel publishing company where I worked, dreaming of entering the US illegally by crossing the Mexican border. I never worked up the courage to do it.

When I finally moved (legally) to the US, I was able to visit some of those places along the Mexican border I'd been dreaming about all those years. I found them to be even more beautiful than I'd imagined. These are some of the photographs I took.
